Install in a minute
Windows
Run the installer. It installs for you only, in about 20 seconds. If Windows shows "Windows protected your PC", choose More info, then Run anyway.
macOS
When your download is ready, the page gives you a one-line Terminal command that downloads, checks and installs Firetool in Applications, without macOS calling it damaged.
Linux
sudo apt install ./Firetool-…-linux-x64.deb on Ubuntu, Debian and Mint, or unpack the .tar.gz and run its install.sh.
Privacy notice
With Download now we don't ask for your name or email. We keep a record of the download: the system and version, where you came from (for example, a link from LinkedIn) and your answer to "Where did you hear about Firetool?", to see which places people find us.
This page used to offer Email me the link as well. If you used it, we keep the email address (and name, if you gave it) you entered then, to contact you about important updates or security fixes; Firebase Authentication (a Google service), which sent the confirmation link, keeps the email address too. Firetool itself asks for your email only to start its Pro trial.
We send you news about Firetool, such as new features, only if you tick the box for it. You can unsubscribe at any time by replying to any of those emails or writing to us.
Your details are stored in Google Firebase in India (Mumbai region). Only the developer can see them. They aren't sold or shared with anyone else. With your download we also keep your browser's user agent (its name, version and system) and a scrambled form of your network address (not the address itself), to stop automated download requests and spot misuse.
Firetool's 30-day Pro trial is tied to a scrambled form of your computer's and Windows account's IDs (not the IDs themselves), with the computer's name, so each computer gets one trial. If you buy a Pro licence, we keep it with your email address and email you its key (and again if you ask for it). When you activate it, and each time Firetool opens, the app sends the licence or trial, the same scrambled IDs, the computer's name and the app version, so a licence works for one person on one computer. We keep these for as long as the licence or trial record exists, stored the same way as your other details.
When you send a message or a licence request through the Contact page or the app, we keep your name, email, company (if given), the message and, from the app, its version and computer name, to reply to you. You get an email confirming we received it.
