Viewing the page works in the Free edition. Editing, disabling or signing out the user needs Pro.
Open a user's page
- Click Authentication under a project in the sidebar and find the user (by email, phone number or UID, or in the list).
- Choose ↗ next to the user's UID. Or open the user and choose Open user page.
What the page shows
- Account: the email and whether it's verified, phone number, how they sign in, when the account was created, the last sign-in, two-step sign-in and custom claims.
- Documents: the Firestore documents that hold the user's UID, in the places you set up (below), with links to open them.
- Storage files: the files in the user's Storage folders.
- Changes made in Firetool: what Firetool changed for this user, from the audit log on this computer.
Tell Firetool where to look
Firestore can't search every collection for a UID, so you tell Firetool where a user's data lives, once per project. Choose Where to look… on the page and add places:
- A path with
{uid}in it, such asusers/{uid}(one document) orusers/{uid}/orders(a subcollection). - A collection and the field that holds the UID, such as
orders·ownerId. Choose whether the field equals the UID or is a list contains the UID, and optionally look in every collection with that name. - Storage folders, one per line, such as
users/{uid}/.
Collections with names like users or profiles are suggested. Each place reads at most 20 documents, and the page shows how many documents were read.
Change the user from the page
Edit…, Disable / Enable and Sign out everywhere work from the page, with the same roles, project rules and audit log as the Authentication tab. A project marked production asks for its project ID where it would anywhere else.
Questions
Why doesn't the page find all of a user's documents?
It only looks in the places set in Where to look…. Firestore has no way to search every collection for a value, so add each collection or path where your app keeps user data.
Does the changes list include changes made outside Firetool?
No. It comes from Firetool's audit log on this computer, so it shows the changes Firetool made. Changes from your app, the Firebase console or other computers aren't in it.
